Grand Forks Army National Guard Unit on Alert for Possible Mission
A Grand Forks-based Army National Guard unit has received an alert for possible mobilization.
The 1st battalion 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment would protect the airspace around Washington, D.C. starting in March.
It would be the unit’s 11th deployment since 2004.
The unit has detachments in Fargo and Bismarck.
The mission would last one year.
