Cause of Douglas County House Fire May Be Known

The initial investigation shows the cause was from maintenance work in the basement

 

GARFIELD, Minn. — A house in Douglas County, Minnesota was destroyed by fire Sunday morning.

The sheriff’s office says Garfield and Brandon Fire Departments responded to the fire in Garfield around 9:30 a.m.

It had quickly spread throughout the house.

Two people inside were able to escape unharmed.

The initial investigation shows the cause was from maintenance work in the basement.

The state fire marshal will be investigating.
