Sales Tax Vote For FARGODOME Project is Tuesday

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — People in Fargo this week will be deciding the fate of a proposed expansion and remodel of FARGODOME.
The special city election will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Ramada, FARGODOME and Fargo Civic Center.
There will be one question on the ballot to approve or deny the $140 million expansion and renovation project.
The plan includes adding a 90,000 square-foot convention center.
City taxpayers will decide whether to approve a quarter-cent bump in the local sales tax and a 3% increase in the city lodging tax to pay for the updates.
City Auditor Steve Sprague says only paper ballots will be used and they will be counted by hand.
If the proposal passes with the required 60%, the taxes would continue for 20 years.
