Bison Dominate Rematch with Yotes Winning 45-17; Advance to FCS Semifinals

NDSU ROUTES USD 45 TO 17 TO ADVANCE TO PLAY MONTANA NEXT WEEKEND.

VERMILLION, S.D. (KVRR)– The recipe for success of any football team is winning the three phases of the game: offense, defense and special teams. The Bison undoubtedly did that Saturday afternoon in Vermillion defeating the South Dakota Coyotes 45 to 17.

On offense, the Bison put up 45 points and 563 yards. Cam Miller was as efficient as you can be: 13-for-15 passing, 210 yards and a touchdown through the air. On the ground he added another score.

As a team, the Bison rushed for 206 yards and FOUR total touchdowns. Cole Payton had six rushes for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, seven total players carried the ball; Barika Kpennu leading the charge with 13 rushes.

Eli Green had himself a day receiving the ball: five receptions for 116 yards. Joe Stoffel had the lone receiving touchdown on a four-yard catch from Miller in the second quarter to extend the Bison lead to 27-3.

Defensively, ‘Code Green’ made a statement allowing just 17 points and forcing three turnovers. Cole Wisniewski continued his stellar season adding two interceptions, bringing his season total to eight. Sam Jung had a great performance as well with six tackles and an interception of his own.

Special teams made their presence felt at the end of the first quarter with an 82-yard punt return touchdown by Jayden Price. Place kicker Griffin Crosa made all six of his extra-points and added a 40-yard field goal late in the third quarter.

NDSU Vs. Montana will be at 3:30 P.M. CT Saturday (12/16) in Missoula, Montana. The winner will play the winner of SDSU Vs. Idaho/Albany.
