Fargo North Football Head Coach Resigns After 10 Seasons

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR)–Fargo North finished a spectacular undefeated season this past year going 12-0 and winning their first title since 2000. Friday, head football coach Adam Roland announced his resignation after 10 seasons.

In a press release from Fargo North Activities Coordinator Dan Shultis, Roland resigns after leading the Spartans for 10 seasons. Over the past three years, Coach Roland and the Spartans broke 19 different offensive and defensive program records, in addition to numerous individual program records. He leaves with a 45-52 overall record, a state runner up in 2022, a state title this past season and being a 2-time EDC coach of the year winner. Shultis says the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

Adam Roland, head football coach for the Spartans, has announced his resignation after 10 years of dedicated service to the team. During his tenure, Coach Roland compiled a career record of 45 wins and 52 losses, with a playoff record of six wins and three losses. Under his leadership, the Spartans achieved significant milestones, including being the 2021 2A state semifinalist, the 2022 2A state runners-up, and the 2023 state champions. Coach Roland was also named EDC and State Coach of the Year in 2021 and 2023.

Over the past three years, Coach Roland and the Spartans broke 19 different offensive and defensive program records, in addition to numerous individual program records. His commitment and dedication to the team have left a lasting impact on the program. Coach Roland expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work as the Head Coach, stating, “It has been a great experience working with all the players and coaches. There have been many experiences I will take with me and remember forever.”
