Man Who Died After ATV Went Into Pike Bay Is Identified

CASS CO., Minn. (KVRR) — A man who died after his ATV broke through the ice on Pike Bay, east of Bemidji, has been identified as 82-year-old Thomas Steele of Bemidji.
Steele and a passenger, 56-year-old Mark Jacobson of Bemidji, went into the water on Friday morning.
Both men were pulled out and lifesaving efforts were immediately done on Steele by witnesses on the ice.
He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Jacobson was treated on scene and didn’t need further medical care.
