Small plane crash in backyard kills two in Afton, Minnesota

AFTON, Minn. (KVRR/FOX 9) — Two men are killed after a small plane crashes near a house in Afton on Saturday.
The town is east of the Twin Cities.
The crash happened in a residential area. It happened after 9:30 in the morning. Dispatch started receiving calls of a possible explosion.
On the scene, crews found a small airplane, fully engulfed in flames.
Two men, an 85-year-old from White Bear Lake and a 65-year-old from Baytown Township, were killed in the crash.
The plane had just taken off from Lake Elmo Airport before the crash.
Officials said the nearby house was not damaged. The family inside the home at the time of the crash were not injured.
