LIVE: Show Her The Money

FARGO — The Fargo Film Festival’s first night is tonight, Tuesday, March 19th.

And the smart money is on a new, award-winning documentary about money, and women, and what it takes for them to get it.

“Show Her The Money” screens Tuesday evening, and some of its producers and stars will be there.

The documentary examines the world of venture capital.

The producers decided to make the film after discovering that, out of all the venture capital dollars that go out to startups, women entrepreneurs only get about two percent.

That’s a big problem, not just because it means shortchanging some women’s dreams of a better financial future and seeing their businesses hit the billion-dollar mark.

It also means the women’s families don’t get the money they should, and maybe most importantly, it means a lot of good ideas don’t get the funding they need to make their way out into the world.

Producers and stars of “Show Me The Money” Catherine Gray and Azin Radsan van Alebeek joined the Morning Show to talk about why this documentary will make you care about venture capital, and why we’re all losing out when women don’t get a fair chance.
