Construction underway for underpass project in Moorhead

MOORHEAD (KVRR) – Construction has begun on the major underpass project in Moorhead at 11 St. S. and Main Ave. Roads are being dug up, pavement ripped out and the area is changing as this multi-year project gets underway.
Minnesota Department of Transportation says piling is set to start on the 15th, so residents might feel vibrations or hear louder noises while that process is being done. What helps with the project is having good weather, and the recent warm temps are keeping the schedule on time for these crews.
“Mother nature has been on our side so the contractor continues to work on pavement removals, building demos and have been working on the shoe fly realignment for the railroad.” said Aundie Curtiss, the MNDOT Project Engineer.
DOT will hold another public meeting on the 18th at Hjemkomst Center at 9 a.m. for those wanting to ask questions in-person.
