Clay County authorities release identities in fatal crash near Ulen

CLAY COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — A man has died after a crash northwest of Ulen, Minnesota in rural Clay County.

Sheriff Mark Empting says the victim is 43-year-old Sonny Syverson, of Ulen.

Fifty-three-year-old Dean Thompson, from Lake Park, was arrested for Felony 1st Degree DWI.

First responders were dispatched to the area around 11:45 Saturday night.

Ulen Rescue and Ulen Fire arrived and continued with lifesaving efforts until Sanford Ambulance and Airmed arrived.

The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
