Baseball Takes Over The DJ Colter High School Play of the Week Nominees!
AN ELABORATE 'PICKLE' AND A STELLAR PLAY AT SECOND BASE BATTLE FOR THE DJ COLTER HIGH SCHOOL PLAY OF THE WEEK.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR)–Baseball dominates the DJ Colter High School play of the week nominees. It is a battle of Fargo Davies and Moorhead.
In play number one, the credit is shared all around. Davies gets themselves in a ‘pickle’ taking on Valley City. The ball goes to second and the runner from third comes into score easily without a throw. Gus Pankratz is the man beginning the ‘pickle’ at first and getting the pitcher to throw over. Jackson Amerman is on third and he waits for the “NOW” call from his third base coach. The plan works to perfection to score a run even though the Highliners do get the out at second to end the inning.
In play number two, Moorhead Spuds second baseman Cullen Wilson fully lays out on a dive to keep the ball in the infield and flips the ball with his glove to record the out at second. The double play isn’t turned, but still a sensational play.
