Non-profit Down Home encourages “Good Night’s Sleep Challenge”

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A lot of us have a tough time getting enough sleep but if you don’t have a proper bed to sleep in, it’s much harder.

And now, local non-profit Down Home wants you to try it for yourself.

Down Home provides home furnishings for people coming out of homelessness, who often don’t have beds or other household goods.

They’re asking us to try the “Good Night’s Sleep Challenge.” Sleep on the floor just one night, then see how it affects you the next day.

Fatigue, disorientation, irritability and inability to concentrate are just some of the symptoms of poor sleep.

Down Home’s Emily Kaiser says, “We served a single father earlier this year. He had talked about all of the pain he had been in the hospital and for all these medical bills and he was sleeping on the floor and the morning after, he reached out to us and said all of the pain is gone.”

Once you’ve tried the Good Night’s Sleep Challenge, check out Down Home’s website to find out more about how they help families in our community.

You can also make a donation to the cause.
