The Chamber Hosts Debate Between GOP Candidates for Governor of North Dakota

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The GOP candidates for governor of North Dakota face off once again during a debate hosted by The Chamber at Avalon Events Center in Fargo.
Rep. Kelly Armstrong and Lt. Gov. Tammy Miller began the debate by voicing their continued support for Donald Trump after his convictions.
The candidates offered ideas for filling thousands of open jobs across the state.
Miller suggested recruiting from areas in the country with high unemployment.
Armstrong talked about lowering the cost of higher education.
The candidates have different ideas for how they would begin their term as governor.
“The first thing we have to do is reform and reduce property taxes. It’s the one thing it’s the one constant thing I hear about from one end of the state to the other. It’s not just people online it’s local chambers it’s big and small” said Armstrong.
“As we go around the state we hear from folks. When they start to think about it that income tax is a key issue that is stifling growth in our economy. So, reducing completely eliminating the individual income tax will help us attract workforce and grow our economy” said Miller.
Former President Trump has endorsed Armstrong for governor and Public Service commissioner Julie Fedorchak for U.S. House.
Both have featured Trump in their advertising.
The primary election is June 11.
