North Dakota’s Candyman Dies at 95

The creator of Chippers, those famous chocolate-covered potato chips, has died.

George Widman passed away Tuesday at 95.

His father opened the first Widman’s Candy Store in Crookston.

George opened one in Grand Forks in 1949.  Another store is in Fargo.

Funeral services are set for Friday afternoon at 1 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks.
