Record-Breaking Gopher 5 Ticket Sold In Baxter, Minnesota

ROSEVILLE, Minn. (KVRR) — A winning Gopher 5 lottery ticket sold in Baxter, Minnesota is a record-breaker.
It was purchased at Orton’s Baxter Holiday for the June 26 Gopher 5 drawing and is worth $2,045,590.
The previous record was $2,032,201 for a ticket sold at Steve’s Corner in St. James in 2005.
That prize was claimed by a group of 22 co-workers from the Watonwan County Highway Department and Public Works Department.
Orton’s will get a $5,000 bonus for selling last night’s winning ticket.
The person that bought it must claim the prize at Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville.
Gopher 5 is a Minnesota-only lotto game with jackpots starting at $100,000 and growing until won.
