Red River Valley SWAT Moves Training Session Out of Downtown Fargo for Thursday
Downtown Fargo Street Fair Enhances Security

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Red River Valley Swat is changing course and moving its training on Thursday from downtown Fargo to West Fargo.
The Downtown Fargo Street Fair begins Thursday morning and it was believed to be a potential target last year by the man who ambushed police.
SWAT initially planned to train around an old gas station on 6th avenue north.
They have now switched the training session to the 600 block of Morrison Street in West Fargo from noon to 4 p.m.
People in the area will see officers carrying firearms with no live rounds, flashing lights and hear loud noises.
It is a closed training exercise and is not open to the public.
There will be enhanced security measures at the Downtown Fargo Street Fair which begins tomorrow and runs through Saturday.
The measures include increased coordination with local law enforcement and additional private security personnel.
The annual event promises three days of fun-filled activities, live entertainment, delicious food, and unique shopping opportunities.
