YWCA Hosts “Chocolate For Change”
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — From chocolate to chocolate to even something spicy like chili this fundraising event brings in a crowd.
“YWCA is a great organization to support and they do so much for our community. And who doesn’t love some chili and chocolate and some silent auctions and stuff,” said Summer Brainard.
Chocolate for Change, invites community members and businesses to take part in supporting YWCA’s cause. With over 100 businesses providing sweets and with 200 silent auction items.
“Restaurants from across our community, individuals, donors come forward and create a wonderful sweet and spicy lunch all for twenty dollars. And each contribution today goes to support our emergency shelter services,” said Erin Prochnow, CEO of YWCA Cass Clay.
YWCA is the largest shelter servicing women and children experiencing domestic violence or homelessness in the entire state of North Dakota. They provide housing and other opportunities for women 365 days of the year.
“We see endless possibilities in our ability to continue to grow and meet the needs of our community by providing safety. I think our longer term goal with that we won’t be necessary at all and violence would end and we all collectively say enough,” said Prochnow.
