LIVE: MSUM professors talk about new multimedia performance
MOORHEAD, MINN. (KVRR) – Two MSUM professors will be debuting their new multimedia music and film performance on Thursday.
“RealBadNow,” is a live music performance featuring lighting and video, that was put together by Dr. Kenyon Williams and Ryan Clancy, with a grant from the Lakes Region Arts Council.
The performance focuses on tensions in our society, with pieces about conspiracy theories and the Iraq War.
Williams and Clancy say that the performance does end on a hopeful note however, with a piece about love.
“No matter how crazy things get, no matter how frustrated we are with each other, with society, there’s only one thing that’s going to get us out of it. And that’s love.” Williams said.
“Kind of thinking about these intimate moments between a couple or something like that. Driving in the car reaching over and holding your partner’s hand. Just this simple act of love that really means so much and is something that you really remember for a long time. And how just that act can really take you away from all that angst and paranoia.” Clancy said.
The performance is Thursday at 7:30 PM at the Gaede Theater at MSUM. It is free to attend, but tickets are required. You can find a link for tickets with this story on our website.
