Southern Minnesota man dies after fish house explosion

DASSEL, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – Authorities in Meeker County are investigating a weekend explosion that left a man from Dassel dead.

The sheriff’s office says Jeffery Holmquist, 46, was the victim of a gas explosion inside a fish house that caused severe burns to his body. Deputies say Holmquist was airlifted to the Hennepin Healthcare Burn Center Saturday morning, where he died.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting local investigators.
