Hawley Lutheran Church Members Host Benefit For Elementary School Teacher Battling Cancer

HAWLEY, Minn. (KVRR) — Lend-a-Hand up is working to raise money for a local elementary school teacher battling cancer.
A benefit spaghetti feed will be held on Sunday for Trisha Rux, an elementary school teacher from Hawley who was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Trisha Rux had taught elementary for 23 years prior to her diagnosis.
She is currently undergoing a new treatment requiring her to wear a device to treat tumors.
A few members of Hawley Lutheran Church came together to put on a Lend a Hand Benefit to support Rux and her family.
“Trisha is a very giving person. She’s had being an educator and being a teacher she has a very giving heart. And is always there if someone is in need of something,” said Elaine Kluck, Organizer for Benefit.
“You’re going to find Trisha to be just a positive person as far as what she’s going through right now. She’s a shining example for the rest of us,” said Dianne Haugen, Organizer for Benefit.
Organizers for the event invite anyone to attend to show support for Trisha and her family. The event will be held at the Hawley Lutheran Church from 5 to 7 p.m.
