LIVE: A Place to Find Fellow FM Halloweenies
FARGO — A local Facebook group for fans of the Halloween holiday to find decorated homes, good locations for trick or treating, and share tips on how to build their own home haunts is blowing up.
The group “FM Area Halloween Trickers and Treaters” was originally started as the personal page of local Halloween enthusiast Abby Haake.
She opened it to the public, inviting people to post Halloween-centered videos of their own haunts, shopping destinations, events, displays and more.
It’s now more than three thousand members strong.
Haake invites the public to join and share but asks that they be located in the Fargo-Moorhead area or surrounding towns.
She also requests that people include a warning if they’re posting gory, non-child-friendly images.
The group page also features a live, interactive map for people you can add your own home haunt to be included.
And she says haunters in the group are always eager to share their best ideas, including techniques for keeping the decorations from being destroyed in the high winds and snow that our region often sees in October.
Haake joined the Morning Show for a live interview about what led her to start the group, what you can learn if you join, and how you can enter her contest for the best-decorated haunt.
