Moorhead Offers Opportunity to Skate with Santa

The event took place at the Moorhead Sports Center from 2:15 to 4:15 P.M.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Normally, in order to get an audience with Santa, you have to swing by the mall or a similar location.

But in Moorhead, you could catch him out on the ice.

The Moorhead Parks and Recreation department put on the “Skate With Santa” event at the Moorhead Sports Center.

Admission was free, and all were welcome to hit the ice and grab a picture with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Santa himself said that it was a nice change of pace to be able to engage in an activity while meeting all the good boys and girls of the area.

“It’s great interacting with the kids out here,” he said, in something of a jolly fashion.

“We take lots of pictures, we take all the time that they need for that, and I get to see everybody having fun, and I get to have a little bit of fun myself.”

Santa did go on to say that outside of taking pictures, most of the kids were focused on skating – he wasn’t getting handed any Christmas lists while out on the ice.
