Fire Causes Extensive Damage to Fargo Home

No-one was injured, but it may be a long while before the home is once again habitable.

FARGO, N.D. – Officials are thankful that harm was only done to a structure after a blaze damaged the second floor of a home at 737 2nd St. N.

The fire department was dispatched on Friday, December 13, at 9:03 P.M. after a caller reported fire on that second floor.

Upon arrival, the first fire crew did observe flames coming from a window and also witnessed the homeowners trying to extinguish the fire.

Crews acted fast and extinguished the fire within approximately 15 minutes of arriving on scene. All occupants were evacuated safely, including pets; no injuries were reported.

The fire was limited to the second floor of the house but caused heavy damage there and also resulted in smoke damage throughout the entire house. The residents of the house were displaced and have been assisted by family.

A damage estimate is not yet available, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
