West Fargo To Stop Sounding Sirens At Noon
While Weekday Sirens Will End, Monthly Tests Will Continue

WEST FARGO, N.D. — The weekday noon siren sound in West Fargo is about to come to an end.
Beginning Monday, West Fargo will no longer sound the warning siren at noon each weekday.
The daily siren has been found to dilute the effectiveness of the warning system.
The last day of the daily noon whistle will be on Friday.
West Fargo will continue to have the monthly audible test at 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month.
The siren system is used to warn people during severe summer weather and other emergencies that require people to shelter in place.
