Wadena Democrat Begins First Political Campaign For Congress In MN’s 7th District

WADENA, Minn. (KVRR) — A Wadena, Minnesota man is jumping into politics and running for Congress in the 7th District, which covers most of western Minnesota.
Erik Osberg is a Democrat who has worked in construction, media, finance, and as a small business owner.
He says he is running to bring honest, hardworking leadership to Washington.
“I’m not a politician, but I’m a leader & a problem solver,” said Osberg. “I am a member of the working class. I’ve worked construction, worked in the financial sector, public sector and have been a small business owner. I’m running because I’ve come to the conclusion that the cost of doing nothing outweighs the cost of doing something. I’m running because I believe we can do better.”
Osberg says he see the pressures on family farms, struggles of public schools facing budget cuts, and stresses on rural healthcare systems.
Republican Rep. Michelle Fischbach has served the district since 2020 and was just re-elected to a third term last November.
