GF Co. Sheriff to chase suspects: “We will catch you” after man is clocked driving over 120MPH

GRAND FORKS CO., N.D. (KVRR) — Grand Forks County Sheriff Andy Schneider has a message for people who think they can outrun authorities: “You can run, you can climb, but you can’t hide. We will catch you.”

He issued that warning after 19-year-old David Herrera Jr. of Grand Forks hit speeds over 120 miles per hour last night and a chase began near Larimore.

Herrera eventually stopped at a farmstead in Walsh County and ran into a grove of trees.

Nelson County K-9 team latched onto his scent and Herrera was found about 10 feet high up in a tree.

He was arrested for fleeing, refusal to halt, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He also has an active conspiracy to commit theft warrant in Walsh County.
