National Donut Day is Friday
FARGO — The Salvation Army’s been making life a little sweeter for thousands of folks who need a helping hand for 128 years in the metro.
And this week, you can get in on the action.
They’re teaming up with Sandy’s Donuts Friday for National Donut Day.
The day commemorates the historic work of Salvation Army volunteers near the front lines during World War I.
They fried donuts there for soldiers to help keep their morale up.
Since then, their tradition of lifting spirits through shared food continues to this day.
On Friday, you can get a dozen traditional cake donuts courtesy of Sandy’s and the Salvation Army when you stop in any of their locations in the metro from six to one.
The Salvation Army’s Tracy Bjerke and “Sally” the Salvation Army Girl joined the Morning Show to talk about their continued mission in the metro and how you can get involved.
