Hillsboro teen to represent North Dakota at Children’s Congress with Breakthrough T1D in D.C.

HILLSBORO, N.D. (KVRR) — A Hillsboro teen is headed to Washington, D.C. to represent North Dakota at Children’s Congress with Breakthrough T1D, formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
16-year-old Nina Kritzberger and diabetes advocates most recently helped get legislation passed in North Dakota.
It will allow access to insulin and basic diabetes supplies at a $25 co-pay per month for fully insured plans in the state.
Nina was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 7.
Her parents are Pete and Angela Kritzberger.
Angela has been a lead advocate for insulin affordability and will be accompanying Nina on the trip from July 7-9.
Breakthrough T1D’s goal is to make type 1 diabetes a condition of the past.
