Red River Valley Fair Rolls on After Interruption
Fair officials say that they take everything into account before making a decision like they did on Friday night.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – After a brief hiccup – the Red River Valley Fair is back on schedule and rolling along.
The fair shut down on its opening day, July 4, at 5:00 P.M. thanks to concerns over severe weather.
But that didn’t stop people from showing up in droves over the next two days.
Fair staff says that implementing a total shutdown like that is not a decision they make lightly.
“It’s really tough for us to make that call, because we know the community is looking forward to our event, we plan all year for these events to run, and it’s not very often that we shut down our whole operation,” explained Sophia Thompson, marketing and events coordinator. “We got an advisory from the National Weather Service, from the sheriff shack, that for the safety of the attendees, we needed to get everyone off the grounds.”
Tickets for the demolition derby that night were honored on the 5th.
The fair now shifts to their daily specials before the big musical attractions begin performing next weekend.
The last day of the fair is July 13.
