Rare Beer Picnic Packs Viking Ship Park
Event organizers have to cap the number of entrants at 1,000 to keep everything manageable.
MOORHEAD, MN (KVRR) – There were plenty of events besides the Red River Valley Fair to keep people occupied in the FM Metro this weekend.
One was a massive beer festival at Viking Ship Park.
It was the 9th annual Rare Beer Picnic, organized by Junkyard Brewing Company.
There were 20 breweries with tents set up, with some even coming in from the Twin Cities to show their creations.
The Rare Beer Pincic focuses on smaller batch brews or ones that breweries don’t generally sell to the public.
Attendance was capped at a thousand people.
Junkyard representatives said that such a large turnout gave them plenty of chances to socialize.
“I love being able to interact with people that I can’t see on a daily basis. I also do our social media, so I’m meeting a lot of people I’ve talked to on social in person, so I love that,” said Lexi Ostenaa, event coordinator for Junkyard.
Tickets to the event also included a complimentary picnic-style meal to go along with the selection of beers.
