Wrapping Up the Red River Valley Fair

Organizers aimed to turn things around after a down year in 2024; they believe they achieved that goal.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Even on the final day of the Red River Valley Fair, you could still see kids flocking to the rides, trying out the games, and enjoying all the fair has to offer.

After a disappointing 2024, many were curious to see how the fair would adjust –

“We’re always looking to change and tweak to cater to things that didn’t go so well, or suggestions that we get from people while they’re here,” said Sophia Thompson, marketing and events coordinator for the fair.

and it appears the organizers are pleased with the results.

One sore spot from 2024 was the lackluster ticket sales for concerts, especially for big stars like Blake Shelton. The Fair says that was different this year, with high demand for shows for the likes of the All-American Rejects and Kane Brown.

Staff says their interactions with the guests were positive.

“The people who are here actually enjoying the fair that we get to talk to are happy to be here, happy with how we’re doing things, and having a good time with their friends and family,” said Thompson.

They’re excited to do it all again in 2026.

“We feel like we have a good product, and we’re just working to make it better and get more people here,” said Thomspon.
