Help Keep Kids Covered with Youthworks
FARGO — They say clothes make the man.
But your volunteer efforts could help make life a little easier for some of the region’s kids having a tough time.
Youthworks is a nonprofit that helps teens struggling with homelessness.
Their August fundraiser “We’ve Got You Covered” supplies them with back-to-school clothing.
They serve approximately 1,000 middle and high school kids in the region, and that means they’ll need volunteers in the hundreds to make the clothing drive happen.
Youthworks leaders say there are a lot of reasons kids wind up needing help — including fleeing human trafficking, including sex trafficking.
Other causes can include the death of a parent, loss of family support, and other misfortunes kids aren’t equipped or prepared to cope with on their own.
Youthworks’ Matthew Benson-Tuff joined the Morning Show for a live interview about the Youthworks mission and why working with teens poses a special challenge well worth meeting.
