Victim of August 3 assault has died of his injuries, suspect arrested last Sunday in Moorhead

(UPDATE 08/14/25 1pM) The Fargo Police Department has identified the deceased individual as John Matthew Pilcher, a 55-year-old male who was a Fargo resident.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — An update to an assault arrest this week involving 19-year-old Tabias Walker, who has no permanent address.

Fargo Police say the victim in the assault that happened on August 3 in the 300 block of North Broadway has died of his injuries.

They will release the identity of the 55-year-old man on Thursday.

Walker was arrested this past Sunday in Moorhead for aggravated assault but charges are likely to be amended.

A second person in the attack is no longer considered a suspect.
