Man Rescued from the Red River

We begin with a dramatic rescue after a passerby hears someone say they are cold.

Moments later, a man found hanging onto a tree branch is pulled to safety from the Red River in Moorhead.

“He was looking good, looking like he was alive so I guess that’s all that matter to him as long as we get him there as fast as we can we can stop the hypothermia from happening.”

Rescue crews pulled the man to shore around 7:45, north of 1st avenue North in Moorhead.

When they arrived, they found the man clinging to the tree with water up to his chin.

They also found clothing and other items floating in the water nearby.
The man was responsive but hypothermic.

He was taken to the hospital to be checked out.  No word on his condition or how he ended up in the river.
