Jury finds Grand Forks man guilty of manslaughter in beating death last October

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A Grand Forks man charged with the murder of 49-year-old Anthony Kiehl last year has instead been found guilty of manslaughter by a jury.
The trial for 46-year-old Donald Bartlette started last Tuesday in Grand Forks and the verdict was read this afternoon.
It was last October when Bartlette claimed Kiehl came at him with a knife and that he had to beat him up.
Kiehl suffered multiple injuries to his head and face and was found unresponsive, he later died at Altru Hospital.
Police recovered a knife and two wooden legs of a coffee table that had blood on them at the scene.
Sentencing for Bartlette is set for December 8 and he faces up to 10 years in prison.
