Downtown art gallery celebrates 50th anniversary

FARGO — An art gallery in downtown is celebrating their 50th anniversary and is celebrating by showcasing local artists.
The studio has made a timeline for the gallery, showing it’s beginning in 1975 and the many locations the gallery has called home over the years.
While the gallery is currently on Roberts Street in downtown Fargo, in previous years, the gallery has been located on Main Avenue, Broadway, and even in the Moorhead Center Mall.
Gallery 4 is a cooperative group where artists who have their work displayed also work to keep the gallery open by spending time working at the gallery.
“It’s a fun time,” said artist member and art photographer Scott Seiler. “It’s 50 years, and for a gallery, that means a lot because we have a lot of artists who’ve come through the gallery and displayed their work. And it really means a lot to the art community and to the Fargo-Moorhead, West Fargo community to celebrate events like this.”
On Tuesday, the gallery plans on having coffee, cake, and lemonade from Noon until 3.
At 3 the Studio 4 will host a wine and cheese social, along with a presentation on the history of the gallery.
