FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Women interested in flight got some real-world experience at the Fargo Air Museum this weekend.

It was the third annual Girls in Aviation Day at the facility.

From 10 A.M. to 3 P.M., flight enthusiasts old and young were invited to explore modern and historic aircraft displays and enjoy engaging hands-on activities.

Event organizers say that they can really see when the scientific concepts resonate with the attendees.

“I like seeing the concentration in the kids’ faces as they’re working on their activities, and once they get it, their faces just light up before they take flight,” said Kate Licht, President of the Northern Planes Chapter of Women in Aviation International.

Girls in Aviation Day is a nationwide event, and this local version is put together by the Northern Planes chapter of Women in Aviation International.

The group meets monthly at the air museum if you’re interested in attending.
