FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A change of plea for a man accused of shooting another man in downtown Fargo last October.

38-year-old Gregory Lacroix entered an Alford plea to attempted murder while an aggravated assault charge was dropped.

He maintains his innocence but admits there is enough evidence to convict him.

Police say LaCroix shot a man once at Broadway and 3rd Avenue North and then fled the scene in a van.

The victim was taken to Sanford Medical Center with serious injuries and survived the shooting.

Police say the two men knew each other.

Lacroix faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on December 22.
