FARGO (KVRR) – Fargo police say Tyrque Jones, the 20-year-old Fargo man who had been wanted for a fatal shooting in downtown Fargo in August, is being released from custody.

Jones was recently arrested in Minneapolis. Police had been searching for Jones with an arrest warrant for the murder of Azeem Holmes.

Holmes was killed in a shooting in the 50 block of Broadway North outside of District 64.

Police say Jones is being released from custody today from the Hennepin County Jail “based on information gathered from interviews with Jones and further analysis of video related to the case.”

“Information Jones provided to investigators helped to corroborate actions in the video and redirect the focus of the investigation to another individual as a potential suspect.”

Fargo police are expected to release more information during a news conference at 11:00 a.m. Friday.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
