Fargo Park District investigating cybersecurity breach

FARGO (KVRR) – The Fargo Park District is investigating a cybersecurity breach that caused disruptions to its phone, email, and internal systems.
The Park District disclosed the incident on Friday, Dec. 5. Officials say the issue was discovered on Oct. 27.
“Because the scope of the incident was not yet known and the investigation was actively evolving, we did not have enough confirmed information to responsibly share with the public until now,” according to Executive Director Susan Faus.
“As soon as we had verified details to provide accurate and transparent information, we moved forward with public communication.”
“We want the community to know we’re taking this very seriously. We have focused every effort on restoring operations safely and are working with experts to identify the extent of the incident.”
