Accused killer of Isadora Wengel ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation

Joshua Hite

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Joshua Hite, the man accused of killing his girlfriend and possibly dismembering her body, has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Judge Steven McCullough signed the papers last Friday to send Hite to the North Dakota State Hospital for an examination at public expense.

It could take up to 30 days to determine if he is competent to stand trial.

Hite is charged with the murder of 25-year-old Isadora Wengel of West Fargo.

Authorities believe she was killed sometime between January 3 and 6.

Her body has not been found but during the investigation officers found several items in an apartment dumpster that contained Wengel’s blood and DNA including towels and a 12-inch metal cutting blade.

Hite was arrested last month for murder, tampering with physical evidence and giving false information to law enforcement.
