Josh Duhamel Visits Fargo Film Festival for Debut of New Movie
The comedy, titled 'Preschool', features the Minot State graduate pulling double duty as a director and an actor.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Perhaps the most famous alumnus of Minot State University made an appearance at the Fargo Theater tonight to debut his new movie.
Josh Duhamel was greeted by a crowd of fans at the Fargo Film Festival.
Duhamel directed and starred in “Preschool”, a comedy about two fathers locked in a battle to enroll their children in a desirable preschool.
Duhamel has directed movies before – but he said he was particularly drawn to doing so for this script because he has experience with this situation.
“That’s part of the reason I wanted to do this movie, because we went through the racket that is school admissions,” he laughed.
“Not so much in North Dakota – I went to public school in North Dakota, and I vowed that I was never going to fall into the trap when I was out there [in Los Angeles]. Sure enough, I did.”
“I got to see firsthand what extremes a parent will go to, to get their kid an upper hand or a leg up,” he added.
Duhamel appeared at the event with his wife, Audra Mari, who attended Davies High School and NDSU before going on to win Miss World America in 2016.
The two have a one-year-old son and a daughter on the way.
Duhamel has another child from his previous marriage.
