West Fargo man to plead guilty to posting online threat targeting President Trump

Andrew Sandvik

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A West Fargo man will enter a guilty plea for making an online post threatening President Donald Trump.

In the plea agreement in U.S. District Court dated April 3, 47-year-old Andrew Sandvik will face a reduced sentence and the remaining counts of the indictment will be dismissed.

Sandvik admits to posting a message on his Facebook account last August that read: “TRUMP I AM THREATENING YOUR ENTIRE EXISTENCE! YOUR SS CANNOT PROTECT YOU FROM ME!”

The maximum penalty for the federal crime of influencing a federal official by threat is five years.

But prosecutors have agree to a sentence on the lower end of the guideline range.

Sandvik was found living in a camper on his mother’s property in south Fargo and arrested last November.

He was accused of making other threats aimed at Vice President J.D. Vance, FBI Director Kash Patel and law enforcement.

A date to enter his plea and be sentenced is not yet set.
