Interim Police Chief Travis Stefonowicz named sole finalist for Fargo Police Chief position

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo’s interim police chief has been named the sole finalist for the police chief position.
A Police Chief Selection Committee picked Travis Stefonowicz from a pool of four applicants: three from out of state, and one internal.
The committee had identified three candidates of interest to interview this week, but two decided not to move forward and withdrew from consideration.
Stefonowicz has been with the police department since 2002.
He was promoted to assistant chief in 2021 and to interim chief back in March after Dave Zibolski retired.
The Police Chief Selection Committee will interview Stefonowicz on Thursday and submit its recommendation to City Administrator Michael Redlinger.
He will bring the candidate to the City Commission on Monday, May 11 for approval.
