Woman, Pets Rescued from Fire in Grand Forks
The Grand Forks Fire Department says the woman was trapped in her bedroom when the first crews arrived.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) – A structure fire in Grand Forks endangered the lives of several living creatures after dangerous amounts of smoke trapped a woman in her bedroom.
The Grand Forks Fire Department says they were called to the scene at 1460 49th Avenue S. at 3:43 A.M. on May 9.
Upon arrival, they noticed visible amounts of smoke throughout the entire home, and located a woman trapped in her bedroom. She, alongside multiple pets, were rescued from the structure and rushed to Altru. Their conditions have not been made public at time of writing.
The fire was eventually extinguished, but the home sustained extensive smoke and fire damage. No firefighters were injured during the incident.
