Churches United begins construction on entryway, adding security features

MOORHEAD (KVRR) — Churches United for the Homeless main shelter in Moorhead is undergoing construction
The shelter has just started construction this week, with security upgrades to its main entryway.
The front entrance will be separated for both entry and exit doors.
The current advocates window will also be moved in between the entryway.
Everyone who also enters the building will be required to place items in a bin and will go through a metal detector.
“From a safety and security standpoint, we’re going from here to here. So it just seems like we’re redoing the front, it’s actually much more involved,” said Churches United Chief Executive Officer Pastor Devlyn Brooks.
Construction is estimated to be complete by early August.
