Helping Kids cope with trauma

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Midwest Kid Fest is just over the horizon, and while your kids may be getting excited for the music, games and fun, it’s also a chance to help them learn to deal with stress and trauma.

Sanford Health will be out in Island Park, sharing tips with kids and parents on how to manage anxiety and cope with trauma.

They say these strategies are important for children dealing with trauma, but can help any child learn to manage their emotions as they go through life.

“Those coping skills are really important. No matter whether you’ve had hard things, or you’re going to have hard things, it’s really important to have those life skills that have you cope better with challenging things, stressful things. It helps your brain and your mind and your body calm down, think more clearly, and make good decisions.”

You can find them at the Midwest Kid Fest tomorrow from noon, to 7.P.M.
