Fargo Lieutenant Now Eyeing Police Chief Spot

A long time veteran of the Fargo Police Department puts his hat in the ring for police chief.

Lt. Joel Vettel has applied for the position.

Vettel has been with the department for 18-years and has served a number of roles.

He’s currently head of investigations.

Other candidates include Acting Police Chief Dave Todd.

Mayor Tim Mahoney says he hopes to name a new chief by late September or early October.
