EMS Responder and Former Dalton Mayor Charged with Theft at Scene of Fatal Accident

A first responder with the Dalton Fire and Rescue Squad has been charged with stealing money from the wallet of a Moorhead teen killed on I-94 in June.

42-year-old Tara Lindquist has been charged with misdemeanor theft.

A criminal complaint says Lindquist admitted to taking $120 from a wallet that was on the side of the interstate and used the money to pay her electric bill.

She was among the first responders on the scene of the crash near Fergus Falls that killed 18 year old Zachary Kvalvog and his 14 year old brother Connor.

Both teens attended Park Christian School in Moorhead and were on their way to a basketball camp with two friends, who were hurt in the crash.
