No Arrests Allowed Off Campus for NDSU Police

The North Dakota Supreme Court has ruled that campus police do not have jurisdiction to make arrests or issue citations off campus.

The ruling stems from a case where an NDSU campus officer arrested a driver outside of university property for driving under the influence.

The court ruled there is no authorization for the Board of Higher Education to enter into law enforcement agreements to exercise joint powers outside the institution.
